Loy Krathong (ลอยกระทง)

Loy" means "to float" and a "krathong" is a lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. The krathong usually carries a candle, incense, and some flowers. People release their krathongs on a river, canal, or a pond, making a wish as they do so. It's a way to thank the Goddess of Water, Phra Mae Khongk
