Yi Peng (ยี่เป็ง)

This is celebrated primarily in Northern Thailand, most notably in Chiang Mai. Coinciding with Loy Krathong, Yi Peng involves the release of lanterns into the sky. It's a breathtaking sight when thousands of lit lanterns are released and float up into the night sky.
